The East Neuk of Fife is a tranquil haven of peaceful coastal villages. As you walk the coastal path from north to south you will pass through Elie, St. Monans, Pittenweem, Anstruther and Crail with each one competing with the other to be the prettiest or cutest.

The coast here has a series of golden sandy beaches and the villages crowd down to these with cobbled streets lined with colourful old houses and quaint harbours. The history of these villages is mainly to do with fishing but nowadays, tourism is the main activity and many of the villages have a high proportion of holiday homes.
